Contouring has become as popular as sculpted brows, boyfriend jeans, Vegemite & sliced bread as of late, and every brand has put out their own version of contour kits to fit the demand. As you may or may not already know I am merging my pro kit to become 100% cruelty free so after years of using only high end brands I have started to branch out and use ones I never would have even considered before.
When I saw my girls at She Lives Cruelty Free were now stocking Australis AC on tour contour kits I had to give it a go. I had been lusting after the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour kit for literally a year, and to be completely honest I didn't have the highest hopes that this would in any way compare - but I am totally over the moon with my purchase! This kit is highly pigmented, beautifully toned and easily blendable. It contains two matte highlighting shades, perfect for under eyes - one pink and one yellow toned. The last highlight shade is a beautiful irredescent silvery hue, which looks beautiful atop the cheekbone. The darker shades consist of two very warm browns, and one cool tone brown which leans towards a dark taupe on application. This slightly greyer brown is perfect for creating shadow and the warmer ones essential for bronzing the skin. Perfectly teamed this contour kit totally has you covered and I am instantly converted. This kit retails for just $18.90NZ. Find yours here ❤️ www.shelivescrueltyfree.com

I love before and afters, it shows how much difference makeup can make even when you only wear the basics. This is my "mum face" 5 minute makeup routine, when I don't have much time but reaaaally don't want to leave the house looking like the "before" lol! Here's what I used - 1. Apply Elf acne fighting foundation with a damp beeauty blender & set with Skindinavia setting spray 2. Nude by Nature mineral bronzer buffed into the skin with a fluffy brush, I applied this where the sun naturally hits the skin for a natural tan 3. The Balm Cosmetics Mary Lou Maniser applied atop the cheekbones, gives an instant glow to the skin - a must for tired Mama's! 4. Brush Benefit Gimme Brow through the brows for a natural look 5. Lashings of Eye of Horus Godess Mascara 6. M.A.C Lipglass in Prrr and DONE! Quick 5 minute makeup x Ok so it doesn't seem like winter is on it's way, as sunny April skies and warm days are still with us... but it's coming, and as I pull out all my jeans and warm woolies in prep I also reevaluate my makeup.
Now winter often calls for deeper tones, purples and reds, warm browns and dusky pinks. Winter however doesn't mean you have to say goodbye to colour! I'm loving emerald green on my eyes at the moment, with a hint of silver. Here I have teamed it with a cool grey toned lip. Not for the faint hearted but unexpected and somehow (IMO) still entirely wearable. Clothing automatically becomes more muted, so why not add that colour into your makeup routine. Try a splash of apricot on the lips or eyes with an all black outfit. Or a wash of colour along the lash line if you're not game enough for this look! So don't hide away all that colour just yet... *Featuring OCC Vegan & Cruelty Free Lip Tar in Sebastian. Full product details on Seb Makeup instagram ✖️ |
