If you have followed me for a while you know I'm passionate about being cruelty free. I have eaten a mainly vegan diet for many years, don't wear animal products and try to use products I know do not test on animals. This can be difficult when it comes to beauty products, as most companies these days claim to be rid of the barbaric and dated practice, but the thing that many people do not realise is that China demands products to be tested by law, therefore every product that sells in China is unfortunately on that list.
SO, I was over the moon to find the girls at She Lives Cruelty Free have done the hard work for me and only stock products that they know are animal friendly. I was lucky enough to be sent some products to try and these Sweetpea & Fay liquid lippies have me in lippie love. They are all highly pigmented, creamy & extremely opaque, and are available in some pretty out there (and gorgeous) shades to boot. Bonus is they retail at just $13.95NZ. Check out www.shelivescrueltyfree.com 💕
I was sent these matte pigments in Beautiful & Provoked and I'm head over heels! They are so highly pigmented & smooth and easy to blend, and have great lasting power. I now have 10 from the collection and I plan to get more. You can check out the range at www.youniqueproducts.com/rebeccamathias 💕
As you can see I don't have much of a brow, and I have had to therefore perfect the art of drawing them on. Although I tend to change the shape and depth of my brows often, I do not often change my technique. This is what I have been doing for a few weeks and am loving the sculpted and full result.
Comb the brows upwards with a spoule (aka mascara wand) sans product
I love Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow pomade, it is similar to a gel liner but for the brows. It's the one product I have found that doesn't shift through out the day. Using my Seb Makeup angle brush ($10.50NZ - Available in my web shop) and a small amount of product I outline the top and bottom line of my brow as a guide. Then I fill in very lightly, leaving the inner corner mostly bare.
Using a darker brow product (pictured is the BH Cosmetics brow trio in Blonde) I darken the tail of my brow as my hair is quite dark at the moment. You don't need to do this if you're fair haired.
Now for my absolute fav brow product in the entire world, Benefit Gimme Brow. I brush this on and it gives the natural hairs thickness and prevents the brow from looking too drawn on. Honestly this stuff is actually amazing. Holy grail stuff.
Lastly I like to clean up the brow underneath with a little concealer. This just gives it a really clean, polished finish.
So, 5 easy steps and you too can have a perfectly formed brow. Unless you're one of the lucky ones who were born with them, and to you my friend embrace and enjoy those bad boys! X
